Custom Shopify apps, tools and dashboards
When no app does quite what your team needs, the answer is usually a spreadsheet and a lot of copy-paste. I build the tool that replaces it, fitted to how your team actually works, and I keep it running.
Custom tools and apps
- Internal tools for the jobs your team does every day: receiving, transfers, special orders, wholesale, consignment.
- Integrations between Shopify and the other systems you rely on, like ShipStation, accounting or a supplier's portal, with retries and alerts so failures don't go unnoticed.
- Shopify features your theme or apps can't do: custom checkout rules, product logic, admin extensions.
- Rescue work on a custom app someone else built that nobody can maintain now.
It's the same kind of work behind my own App Store apps, Pickadoodl and Stockadoodl.
Reporting and dashboards
Shopify's reports answer "how much." Owners usually need "why" and "what next": which products sell through and which sit, which location runs short first, where returns come from, and how long orders take to leave the building. I pull those numbers together into one place, refreshed automatically, so you stop rebuilding the same spreadsheet every Monday.
How a build goes
- Scope: a short write-up of the problem, what the tool will and won't do, and a fixed quote.
- Build in small steps: you see working pieces early, on your real data.
- Launch and hand over: documentation, a walkthrough, and monitoring.
- Keep it running: optional maintenance as part of a retainer.
Questions
Public app or private app?
Most custom tools are built just for your store, as a custom app installed only there. If the idea would help other merchants too, we can talk about whether it should become a public app.
Who owns what you build?
We agree on it in writing before work starts. For tools built only for your store, you get the code and documentation.
Can you work on an app someone else built?
Yes. I'll review it first and tell you honestly whether to keep, fix or replace it.
Let's fix what's slowing you down.
Tell me what's manual, slow or breaking. I'll point you to the fastest path, whether that's a quick fix, a project or a retainer.
