A Stocky alternative for moving stock between your locations

Updated October 23, 2026

Stocky stopped working on August 31, 2026. If you used it to decide what each store needed and send it from your warehouse, Shopify's admin now covers the transfer itself but not the deciding. Stockadoodl does that part: set a min and max once, and when a store runs low you get a Shopify transfer with the quantity already filled in.

What happened to Stocky

Shopify is moving core inventory work into the admin and POS. Past purchase orders and stocktakes don't move across, so this isn't a one-for-one switch.

How Stockadoodl replaces the transfer side

  1. Set min and max per product and store, or set one coverage-day rule across every SKU.
  2. Get told when a store runs low by email, Slack, or a daily or weekly digest.
  3. Review the pre-filled transfer. The suggested quantity never exceeds what the warehouse has, and it counts stock already promised to other open transfers. A "Why this quantity?" note shows the math.
  4. Create it. It's a real Shopify transfer, the same one you'd see under Products → Transfers. Nothing is created until you click.
  5. Pick it (Pro). Send your team a picker link. They scan from their phone, and you see who picked what.
  6. Receive it. Record each line as accepted, short or damaged. Stockadoodl receives it in Shopify and flags anything that doesn't add up.

Moving your min/max levels over

  1. Export from Stocky while read-only access lasts. You need each product's SKU and its min and max for each store.
  2. Make a CSV with three columns: SKU, Min qty, Max qty. One file per store. Headers aren't case-sensitive.
  3. Install Stockadoodl and open Thresholds.
  4. Import the CSV in the bulk rules section. Pick the store and the warehouse that supplies it, then upload. Stockadoodl matches each SKU to your Shopify variant and lists any it couldn't find.
  5. Fix unmatched SKUs in Shopify (blank or duplicate SKUs are the usual cause) and import again.

No Stocky export? Use a bulk rule instead: set a coverage floor and ceiling in days, preview what it suggests from your recent sales, and apply it.

Where Stockadoodl isn't a fit

Stockadoodl is about moving stock between your own locations. It doesn't write purchase orders, track cost of goods, or forecast with AI. For POs, use Shopify's built-in purchase orders; Stockadoodl's reorder page gives you the list to put on them. If you need a full planning suite, apps like Prediko or Sumtracker cover more ground for more money.

Pricing

Stockadoodl is $9.99 a month. Pro is $19.99 and adds sales-pace suggestions and guided picking. Both include receiving, exceptions and reorder suggestions, with a 7-day free trial. You don't need POS Pro to use it; here's what that saves.

Questions

Does Stockadoodl create transfers automatically?

No, on purpose. The transfer waits, pre-filled, in your alert or digest. You review it and create it in one click.

Does it work with POS Pro?

Yes. It creates normal Shopify transfers, so if your stores use POS Pro they can still ship and receive them from POS.

Can I import my Stocky min/max levels?

Yes. Export them from Stocky while read-only access lasts, save them as a CSV with SKU, Min qty and Max qty, and import it on the Thresholds page.

Do I need a warehouse?

You need one location that supplies the others. That can be a warehouse, a back room, or your biggest store.
